So tomorrow, I am going to wear a shirt dress. No, it's nothing new—I know, my reader, but I have this certain fondness in my heart for shirt dresses. In the summer especially they keep me terribly cool! It's great, but for any of you who have been living under a rock and have no idea what I am talking about...I think Coco might just approve
My shirt dress is actually more like a "blouse" dress, but it's reall cute, and maybe I'll leave a picture for you guys later. I am a little nervous about things tomorrow(really today), but we will we how it goes, I will tell you about everything later. It should be interesting though. I'll tell you all about my day and maybe I will have a surprise! Have a good morning!!

Summer Love
Now I am warning you, my readers, this has nothing to do with fashion.
Have you ever had a summer love? Have you ever been so concentrated, so not in love that you have your eyes closed to the world. Someone taps you on the shoulder and conveniently opens your eyes back to a world that is not just inside of your head, and when you open your eyes they focus on this one person in the sea of everyone and everything else. It hits you then that possibilities are endless during the summer; you are free to do almost anything without any real and lasting consequences.
That was me last summer. I had been in love with a guy during the year and had cut myself off from him. I had been working and concentrating on everything that I had and wanted to do. I wasn't crushing on anyone nor was I trying to until this guy came into my world out of the blue. We started talking and I began to like him. He would seek me out to hang out, and I would find a way to talk to him once during the day. Then my summer ended abruptly, I stopped talking to him and I forgot, until now this summer and I have a serious crush.
So, this your turn to tell me how to deal with this. I know it's crazy, bit how should I handle it?
All my love,
S.P.

For: Not Dying of Heat Stroke and Still Looking Cute
If it was legal, I would wear no clothes in public when it was hot out, but alas-- it's not legal. I guess these past few days, I have been dreaming for a breeze; here are a few clothes for me and you to stay as cool as possible...
So this from Anthropologie it's called |

Alexa Chung's Leather Pants
I was watching Alexa Chung on day and found her with these pants on. I really love these because while they are definitely pants, they also have this legging feel. They are skin tight which is really hot and I really like they way Alexa seems to wear them whenever I find pics with her wearing them.
I've now gone far enough to do my own research which I would like to share with you, my reader, on where to find these wonder pants--or at least pants similar to these!
These are probably one of the most affordable REAL LEATHER ones out there. They come from Asos and are $275.82. |
This first pair, closest to Alexa's(may even be Alexa's) is from Bird by Juicy Couture. I got this pic from coolspotters.com, but these leggings cost $898.00, to be exact. |
Now these ARE NOT real leather, but they are the cheapest coming in at around $59.90 a pop |
Do you have a love for leather leggings too?! Have you found any that are really cute? Tell me what you think!

The Last We Will See of Amy
Amy Winehouse was found dead today. She has made some great music, and even as controversial a singer she must be, we have to recognize that this is a really sad day for many people. She had her own individual style, from beehive hair to cat eye make-up, which makes her a style icon. She may not have been the first to have that look and she certainly will not be the last, but she held herself well and showed her individuality with her fashion. It will be strange not seeing her on the list of top records with songs like Rehab. We will miss you dearly Amy and you beehive hair-do.
How do you feel about the death?

Just a Belt, an A-Line Skirt, and a Respectable Top
"What you wear is how you present yourself to the world, especially today, when human contacts are so quick. Fashion is instant language." Miuccia Prada
All I want to do is choose my clothes, what to wear, and how to wear them. My style, only my style, is really mine, and I am proud of that. I feel my most confident and well presented in an a-line skirt, a belt that
cinches my skirt in at the waist and a loosely fitting top that is not too revealing (preferably with some tights). I want to express how I feel or what I want through my clothes. I don't care what people think about what I wear and how I wear it. In a world where "fashion is instant language"I want people to realize who I am right away. I want people to know that I am comfortable, I am not afraid to be in love, to be artistic, to be individual. I want everyone to know that I am free to do what I want when I want whenever I want, and I am not afraid to just go off and do it: to love, to make a statement, to be present in the moment at the right time.
My clothes represent who I am; they tell that I am present, I am artistic, I am conservative, and, if I might say so myself, I can be a sex pot without losing my angelic side. With my style I can be the hot girl in disguise or the free artist from California, all I need is a belt, an A-Line skirt, and a respectable top.

In a World Full of Cheerios
Everyone has a favorite color, or at least a color scheme that appeals to them more than most. Recently I was thinking about a quote that took over my eighth grade yearbook, "In a world full of Cherrios, be a Fruitloop."
As a sophomore in high school, I started wearing my favorite color, green, everyday. I would wear sweaters that were green and accessories that were green. I would wear headbands that were turquoise and necklaces that were in the sea-green family. Many of my friends named me the green girl--but much of the time my signature color was very subtle. A signature color is just a way to "be a Fruitloop." From belts to sweaters to jewelry, if you have a favorite color, find a tone that accents the beauty of your skin tone or brings out your eyes. The color green matches my eyes and represents my love of trees and water. Green is a color that makes me feel comfortable and happy to be wearing.
Do you have a favorite color that you love to wear?
Find a color and try making it your signature color!

J'adore Le Style Des Hommes
The tux got me thinking (well that and the song You and Me- Dave Matthews Band) about how much I love boys! I love their style and their clothes--let's face it even the most stylish woman in the world loves men's clothing because they are just sooo comfortable-- I love their personalities and all their differences. While I wouldn't call myself boy crazy by any means, I do know I am an artist and take pleasure in the small details of how a guys face is structured and even more especially the vibe of a guys individual fashion sense.
"J" ,a guy a met in a class over a year ago, is no exception. J sat in the seat in front of me in one of my classes last year; he was interesting, funny, and very into being different from everyone else. While his character was very different from any guy I had met, his style wasn't so much. Now His style has become trendy and almost outlandish, but the interesting thing: I have become more attracted to him because of it. Between the suspenders and how he rolls every article of clothing he can (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/15/fashion/15ROW.html), his style has become something that as his friend has made me start to think of him as a person that could be more than just a friend.
Tell me what you think.
Do you think the rolled pants/shirts trend is hot or not? Have you ever been attracted to someone because of a trend they advertise? Are there any styles/trends that attract you?

Yes, that is correct. My first post is a tux. A tuxedo, something that most people believe would not exude any type of sexual appeal, more especially in a woman. This tuxedo, by Patrik Ervell should change everyone's mind.
This tux paired with simple black pumps speaks volumes, and it must be my first post because Kirsten Dunst shows such a confidence in wearing this tuxedo that it is undeniably sexy, just as Coco Chanel could where clothing options meant for a man but still cause them to reveal her feminine side.
(Of course this is Audrey Tautou in the movie Coco Before Chanel, but you get my point.) Kirsten Dunst is not really making as much of a statement now in the 21st century, because it has been done before, but what one should notice is the beauty of the pop of color that is in the tux and then as you travel up to KD's face, how the only color used in her makeup is red lipstick.
Note: the red lipstick makes a statement without going over board--the rest of KD's makeup is neutral, the blue in the tux softens the look, making it not so much of a harsh look, and the pencil leg of the pant in conjunction with the black pump pull the look together and make KD look still ultra feminine.
Nice Job KD!
What Would Coco Say?
Elegance does not consist in putting on a new dress.
One way to be sexy, feminine, and elegant without a new dress.
All my love.
